The light source is the main product imported from China by ASEAN countries. In 2005, the total number of light sources imported by ASEAN countries from China reached 930 million, worth more than 250 million US dollars, accounting for 81% of China's exports of ASEAN lighting products. The total import volume of various types of lamps reached 40 million yuan, accounting for 13% of the total imports of Chinese products from ASEAN. Lighting accessories accounted for 6% of China and ASEAN lighting lighting products, with a total value of approximately $19 million.
Among the various light source products exported to ASEAN countries, the most demanding is energy-saving lamps. In 2005, the number of energy-saving lamps exported to ASEAN in China was 260 million, and the total export value reached 130 million US dollars. The "unlisted electric lights and lighting devices" is the second largest light source product with an export volume of nearly $57 million. Metal halide lamps also play a very important role in China's export market to ASEAN. In 2005, the export volume exceeded US$12 million, making it the third largest source of light source products.
Among the lamps exported to ASEAN, "chandeliers and electric lighting on ceilings or walls", which we usually call chandeliers and wall lamps, account for the largest proportion. In 2005, the export volume of chandelier wall lamps reached US$23 million, accounting for 58% of the total exports of lamps and lanterns that year. The export volume of home lighting such as table lamps, bedside lamps and floor lamps also reached 6.77 million US dollars, accounting for 17% of the total export of lamps and lanterns at that time. It is the second largest lighting product in terms of export volume. Other lighting products, such as non-electrical lamps such as Christmas lights, solar lights and candles, illuminating signs and illuminated nameplates, also have millions of dollars in market space each year in ASEAN countries.
