Samsung has announced that the company will abandon the development and production of transparent OLED display panels. As for the specific reasons, according to informed sources, it is because the global total of such panels is not high enough to allow Samsung to rationalize related inputs. In other words, the entire technology industry may like the concept of transparent TV, but no one really will buy them.
Although Samsung is about to withdraw, LG plans to enter the field next year. At this year's CES show, LG demonstrated some of the concept of transparent OLED panel products, and will bring related commercial products at CES next year.
