In US commercial and industrial buildings, more than 100 million emergency exit signs are used every day. Before the mid-1980s, most of these signs were usually made using incandescent lamps and required power from 24W to 40W. After the mid-1980s, in the trend of energy saving, increased reliability and visibility, manufacturers began to use small fluorescent lamps and light-emitting diodes to create emergency exit signs. These light sources have strong visibility, but all energy is only traditional. The emergency exit sign is between 10% and 20%. In order to distinguish high-quality energy-efficient products, the Energy Star (ENGRGY STAR) logo program was established in 1996. In 1999, 15% of emergency exit signs still used incandescent lamps, while 85% of emergency exit signs used LEDs. In the past few years, the price of LED exit signs has dropped significantly, and the cost of life has become more attractive. The automation industry's use of brighter LEDs provides an opportunity for emergency exit sign manufacturers to use fewer brighter LEDs. At present, the production and operators of LED emergency exit signs with the ENERGY STAR logo receive economic rewards from end users, building owners and operators. As the National Building Code regulates ENERGY STAR, relevant personnel are trained, which makes the ENERGY STAR emergency exit sign more widely popularized.
