China's lighting development direction has not found the right direction
Aladdin Lighting Network: You have been actively active in the mainland and Taiwan, and have worked hard to share and communicate lighting academics and experiences across the Taiwan Strait?
Professor Xiao: Yes, I am afraid that the number of scholars who travel to and from the mainland in the entire field of lighting is the most frequent. I am also very honored to be invited to participate in the academic exchange activities in the Mainland many times, hoping to do my own little for the development of the industry!
Aladdin Lighting Network: The whole world is paying attention to Chinese lighting. What do you think of the modern development of Chinese lighting?
Professor Xiao: In general, the development momentum is staggering, the company is expanding rapidly and the technology is increasingly updated. But there is a serious problem, lighting energy consumption is too large. In addition, there is no way to find the right direction, and the technology follows up quickly but blindly follows the trend.
Aladdin Lighting Network: Where is the specific performance? How to deal with it?
Professor Xiao: For example, the fluorescent lamps in foreign countries are doing very well, and the light decay is no more than 10%. The light decay of the first two years of T5 in China is above 40%, and the gap is very serious. The reason is that the quality management of domestic enterprises has a large gap, the functional level, the technical source is not professional enough, and the enterprise technology is not up to standard products, which also causes a vicious circle. In Taiwan, it is impossible to do so. If the technology is not up to standard, there will be no more frequent design accuracy. We say that Japan is doing a better job, and each step of them has a corresponding standard procedure and fine standards. Then the individual suggests that the domestic quality control and technology must be mandatory.
The industry has not yet recognized the LED lighting characteristics
Aladdin Lighting Network: LED has been very hot in the past two years. Please analyze the current development of LED in China?
Professor Xiao: The world is hotly talking about LEDs, and mainland China is also rushing to do it. In fact, they have not understood the characteristics of LEDs. China's earliest development of LEDs are all related to optoelectronics. Non-traditional lighting companies do not understand the use of LEDs in indoor lighting. This is a clear reflection of this misunderstanding. In fact, some light sources such as external electronic tubes and induction lamps are more stable, and their efficacy and lifetime are stronger than LEDs. What kind of light source you need, what kind of light source you choose, it is not clear.
