At the “3·28†investment promotion conference in Zhongshan this year, HIT’s South China headquarters became one of the hottest issues, causing widespread concern in the business community. Han Jiecai, vice president of Harbin Institute of Technology and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, introduced that the HRG (Higashi Gongda Robot Group), which will soon be located in Ma'andao, Cuiheng New District, will build the Group's South China headquarters, Sino-American Innovation Center, and smart manufacturing public service platform in Zhongshan.
People in the industry believe that the settlement of the platform will directly rewrite the layout of the Pearl River Delta region and push Zhongshan to enter the first echelon of robots.
Who is HG Robot Group and why is there such energy?
The reporter has been informed that Harbin Institute of Technology is one of the most well-known engineering colleges in China and one of the earliest companies engaged in robot technology research in China. China's first spot welding robot, the first arc welding robot, the first wall-climbing robot, and the first lunar rover were born here. Most of the domestic robotic scientific research institutions and companies have the backbone of HIT. Therefore, HIT is known as the "Huangpu Military Academy" in the robot manufacturing field.

Controllers, servomotors and speed reducers are known as the "core three major components" of robots and have long been monopolized by foreign "four major families" (ie Swiss ABB, German KUKA, Fanuc Japan, and Yaskawa Electric).
After continuous research and scientific research, HIT Group has finally overcome this technical difficulty and developed the country's first fully-independent intellectual property speed reducer. At the same time, this achievement has also surpassed the international advanced level: the size is reduced, the structure is simplified, and the problem that the RV reducer cannot be miniaturized is overcome. According to media reports, this reducer will soon be put into production. Once mass production is achieved, the overall cost of domestic industrial robots will be greatly reduced.
It's hard to become a forest and it's not a single flower. In addition to the HRG South China headquarters located in Ma'an Island, a robot company from Shenzhen named Candelai Technology will also move its headquarters to Zhongshan East District.
It is understood that Candela Technology is a professional technology company invested and controlled by Qianhai Fortune Financial Holdings Group. Although it took less than one year to set up, the core R&D team of Candela Tech was as many as 160 people. In 2016, its R&D investment exceeded 20 million yuan.
More importantly, the Candela core team also has an important robot core technology: flywheel energy storage batteries. Once this energy difference from the conventional one is broken, an intelligent service robot that can move autonomously will come out, which will bring endless imagination to the robot industry.
There is also a better news: On March 22, Candela Technology signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Harbin Institute of Technology. It will work with Zhongshan City Government to prepare the Guangdong Hong Kong and Macao Intelligent Equipment Industry Technology Research Institute, Guangdong Hong Kong and Macao Intelligent Equipment Industry Guidance Fund and Academician Expert Workstation. With full use of Harbin University of Science and Technology personnel and discipline advantages, promote scientific and technological cooperation and results incubation.
Zhongshan has always been in the layout
According to statistics, China has become the world's largest industrial robot market for three consecutive years. In 2015, sales of industrial robots in China reached 68,000 units, accounting for about one-fourth of global sales.
As the crown jewel of equipment manufacturing, robots have always been the “true love†of Zhongshan people.
In August 2016, the “Zhongshan Smart Manufacturing 2025 Plan (2016-2025)†issued by Zhongshan proposed that by 2018, 50% of industrial enterprises above designated size in the city will complete a new round of technological transformation; and a robot with an output value exceeding 100 million yuan will be built. There are about 20 manufacturing companies and integrated companies. By 2025, it will become the national intelligent manufacturing leading area, and the intelligent design industry will form the Zhongshan regional brand.
From this time onwards, Zhongshan started the search for a "seed company" for robots, which coincided with the hungry workers who are looking for an industrial base.
On September 29th of the same year, at the bead suit meeting held in Foshan, the vice president of HIT University, Mr. Han Jiecai, signed a framework agreement on behalf of HRG with respect to the “High-end unmanned equipment industrialization†project. With a total investment of 8 billion yuan, the project plans to build a national leading and world-class robot and high-end unmanned intelligent equipment industrial base in Tsuiheng New District, striving to form an industrial agglomeration effect and scale within five years.
