Xiamen lighting exports have grown rapidly in successive years

According to the statistics of the Xiamen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the export of Xiamen electric light source and lamps has achieved rapid growth for three consecutive years. However, the Brussels Spring Summit in Brussels, which closed on March 9, passed an agreement to completely end the "incandescent era" and promote the use of energy-saving light bulbs. This brings opportunities and challenges to Xiamen lighting companies.

The market share of fluorescent lamps exceeds 10%. According to the statistics of the Xiamen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, in 2006, the number of electric light sources and lighting products exported by the bureau reached 9064, with a total value of 390 million US dollars. The export batch and amount increased by 7.47% and 64.9% respectively compared with last year. In the year and 2004, the value of exports increased by 26.6% and 37.1%, respectively. Exports achieved rapid growth for three consecutive years.

It is worth mentioning that the green energy-saving products fluorescent lamps, in 2006, the export value reached 350 million US dollars, accounting for more than 10% of the international market share; the fastest growing high-tech products LED electric light source products, from the near zero export in 2004, continuous In two years, it has grown by geometric progression. In 2006, the value of exports was nearly $5 million.
Incandescent EU will collectively take classes

Old-fashioned incandescent lamps that have been accompanying human life for more than a hundred years are facing the fate of "learning" in Europe because of high energy consumption. The EU Spring Summit, which ended on March 9, has reached an agreement. Within two years, European countries will gradually replace energy-intensive old incandescent bulbs with energy-saving fluorescent lamps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

According to reports, energy-saving fluorescent lamps consume less power than incandescent lamps that use tungsten filaments as illuminants. Although they are more expensive than incandescent lamps, in the long run, they have a longer service life and are therefore cheaper. Because the energy consumption of energy-saving lamps is low, if incandescent lamps are replaced, it will save a lot of energy and reduce the amount of fuel used, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions such as carbon dioxide.
Seize the opportunity to practice "internal strength"

Behind the boom in exports and a good international market environment, Xiamen lighting export enterprises are facing good opportunities. However, the relevant person in charge of the Xiamen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau also pointed out that some enterprises are not strong in quality awareness and responsibility.

The person in charge said that some export products of some enterprises had passed the type test of the inspection and quarantine department during the type test, which met the relevant requirements of the European standards, but at the time of production, the company temporarily changed the product structure or replaced The use of materials, the product was notified by the European Union due to safety hazards such as electric shocks and fires.

The Xiamen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminded enterprises that the threshold for exporting energy-saving lamps to the EU is still very high. For example, the EU RoHS Directive has strict standards for the handling of harmful substances. This has blocked many energy-saving lamps companies from outside the EU market. China's energy-saving lamp export enterprises should seize the opportunity to practice "internal strength."
