What is a good product, who can make a good product?

LED is a very young industry. The situation is getting better this year and the stock market is rising. This gives everyone an inexplicable excitement, a dream of the past few years, and the dream of China's LED.

If we want this dream to be better, we need our company to come up with real good products to support it. So what is a good product, who can make a good product?

For LED good products, I think we should stick to the following points:

The first is the light effect, which can be abandoned below 80lm/w, and the time is higher than 150lm/w. The choice of too low is meaningless, and the one above 150 is not very mature. The second is to show that below 70 is best not to use, most of the above 90 are also boasting, unless they can provide proof of phosphor. The third is light decay, longevity, light decay of less than 70%, and good consistency, which can provide reliable quality assurance.

As for who can provide LED good products? I think there are four types of companies that can do this:

First, LED brand enterprises, they have strong strength and good reputation; Second, dedicated enterprises, positioning is very clear: high power medium power and low power, they focus on the LED industry, understand the LED lighting needs, love the LED industry; Third, innovative companies, although small in scale, are developing fast, they have innovative products: processes and materials; fourth, OEM companies, they focus on manufacturing processes.

Third, resource integration, although the company itself may not have a big competitive advantage in manufacturing, but with the capital to do OEM can make up for the short board;

Fourth, the brand operation type, including some traditional lighting transformation LED enterprises. And those enterprises that are not characterized, big but not refined will gradually be eliminated by the market.

With the development of the LED industry, people are no longer satisfied with the stage of the power supply as long as it can illuminate the lamps. Everyone is paying more and more attention to the quality of the power supply. How to make the best power drive configuration is the key, we start from the customer's specifications, combined with years of experience in design.

The market's lamp bead requirements for power supply are still quite a lot, such as 30 mA, 60 mA, 90 mA, 120 mA, etc., according to different power settings. This involves the question of how to choose a power supply? For example, choose 60 mA or 120 mA, which is set according to the topology.

The best way to configure the LED power supply is: the customer's conditional quality, the customer's needs/targets, and the optimal cost. The three support each other, and ultimately must be considered from the whole.

LED lighting products mainly consist of three major components: light source, power supply, and substrate. As one of them, the aluminum substrate accounts for a large part of the cost of the whole lamp.

The continuous decline in the price of LED lighting applications is a general trend. The new technology of aluminum substrates can indirectly bring about cost reduction, which will enable LEDs to be truly distributed to the market and accepted by consumers.

However, in terms of packaging, COB packaging must be the future development direction, and the aluminum substrate will undergo revolutionary changes in the next two or three years. However, at present, high-end packages are generally on a copper substrate or a ceramic substrate, which is relatively expensive. By optimizing the aluminum substrate to meet the COB package, we can reduce the cost by 50%. If it is mass-produced in the future, the cost will drop even more.

Intelligent: energy saving, security, integration, expansion, ease of use, light environment and other advantages, will play a huge role in indoor home lighting, underground parking lighting management, intelligent agriculture and fisheries. The current intelligent lighting is more realized by power control.

Although we have been studying this area for several years, we have produced some finished products, which are limited by technology and have not been widely promoted. What we are doing now is to start with the small entry point of replacing physical dimmers.

In this regard, many Japanese companies are examples of our learning, such as Sharp, Toshiba, etc. These companies will take the initiative to help them when they encounter difficulties, not only technical but also management.


Zhu Bingzhong, deputy general manager of Qinshang Optoelectronics: Now the entire LED industry chain is very rich, and there is a lot of choice for everyone. As a terminal application company, happiness is much better than before. In the face of such a large supplier circle, it is impossible to choose. At this time, integrity is very important. First, do things again, only those companies that really do a good job can truly win the recognition of customers, and it will not last long.
