Osram and Mulinsen complement each other to acquire Landvewans as an industry milestone

According to Edisonreport on July 26, OSRAM approved the sale of its lighting business to the Chinese consortium.

According to the report, the Chinese consortium spent more than 400 million euros to obtain the LEDVANCE of the OSRAM lighting business. ("LEDVANCE" is the name that Osram has ordered for the division of the General Lighting Division.)

The Chinese consortium that bought LEDVANCE consists of several parts: strategic investor IDG, Mulinsen (002745.SZ) and financial investor financial investor Yiwu state-owned asset management center.

In this regard, Ms. Sun Qinghuan, chairman of Mulinsen, said, “We are looking forward to working with LEDVANCE colleagues, and their staff and management are very professional.”

Osram CEO Olaf Berlien believes that “this is a milestone in the alliance of OSRAM and high-tech companies.”

According to the report, LEDVANCE and the Chinese consortium have a good complementary relationship in terms of global structure and product composition. Through this combination (LEDVANCE is acquired), the two will benefit from the synergy of larger markets, distribution channels and procurement. The deal is expected to be completed in 2017.

Mu Linsen's new round of capacity expansion and market share preemption is about to kick off.

In fact, if the bidding is completed, OSRAM will actually enhance its LED business and technology and gain better profit margins. Osram, which has a globally renowned brand and sales channels covering 150 countries, provides a good “seaport” for Mulinsen, which is expanding rapidly.

In the era of LED backlighting, Mr. Mu Linsen, who is ready to buy lights and make people buy them, can go further in the international market through OSRAM LEDVANCE, and Gaogong LED will continue to pay attention.
