Panasonic has promised a 5-year warranty on its LED bulb products since December

According to Japanese media reports, Panasonic will promise a five-year warranty on its LED bulb products from December 1. Because it is difficult to break the gap with other company products in terms of basic performance, Panasonic hopes to create new selling points by introducing long-term warranty.

It is reported that as long as the Panasonic LED bulb products can not be lit within 5 years, you can replace the new products for free. Panasonic LED bulbs purchased before December can also be covered with a 5-year warranty on receipt and manufacturing number.

In general, LED bulbs can last up to 40,000 hours, and can be used in general households for more than 10 years. Although the LED bulb consumes less power and helps save electricity costs, the price of the product is higher than that of the fluorescent lamp.

Matsushita recently revealed that it will increase the sales revenue of its lighting business from 320.3 billion yen (equivalent to RMB 20.22 billion) in fiscal year 2015 to 400 billion yen (equivalent to RMB 25.26 billion).

Panasonic's LED lighting has a large shipment volume and a leading global technology, with a market share of approximately 40% in the Japanese lighting market. Matsushita believes that in Japan, LED lighting will gradually become popular, but traditional lighting sales will decline, and the market outlook is not optimistic.

In the future, Matsushita's lighting business will focus on non-residential areas such as office buildings and road lighting, in addition to lighting fixtures for residential and retail use, as well as LED bulbs and lighting components. LED headlights are also one of the development priorities of Panasonic lighting in recent years.

In 2015, Panasonic used aluminum nitride to produce a new type of semiconductor laser, which increased the output power of the laser to 4.5W and the illumination distance to 700 meters, representing the highest level of LED lamps. Panasonic plans to put the technology into practical use in 2019.

On May 9, 2016, Panasonic and Xingyu shares signed a "Strategic Cooperation Agreement", and the two sides will carry out strategic cooperation in the field of automotive electronics such as LED automotive lighting and sensors. Panasonic has previously announced that it will increase the sales revenue of the European lighting business from 30 billion yen in FY2014 to 36 billion yen by FY18.

Matsushita believes that compared with Japan, the LED penetration rate is still low, and there is still room for growth. In the future, LED lighting related components will be used to open up the market.

Among Japanese domestic manufacturers, Toshiba has withdrawn from the Chinese lighting market. Recently, Anhui Konka Green Lighting Technology Co., Ltd. officially handed over to Toshiba. Konka officially received Toshiba's lighting business in China, involving more than 1 billion yuan.

Through this agreement, Konka Lighting also obtained the right to use Toshiba Lighting's "TOSHIBA Toshiba" brand in the mainland China and Hong Kong markets.
