The Chinese Minister of Science and Technology advocates the joint development of cross-strait accelerated LED technology standards

At the 2011 Straits Science and Technology Forum held on December 16, the Chinese Minister of Science and Technology pointed out that the two sides need to strengthen cooperation in the semiconductor wafer and LED industries and accelerate the joint formulation of technical standards, with a view to facilitating the rapid development of cross-strait industries.

Science and technology minister stressed that the first cross-strait cooperation in the scientific community should open up new areas, new opportunities, new impetus. He pointed out that in order to achieve adjustment of industrial structure and improvement of innovation capabilities, Taiwan's economy needs to strengthen cross-strait scientific and technological exchanges and economic and trade relations. Second, we must make full use of the conditions for cross-strait economic cooperation to jointly promote the innovation of cross-strait scientific and technological cooperation. Third, the scientific and technological circles across the Taiwan Strait should strengthen cooperation in the field of people's livelihood. In particular, the development of small and medium-sized enterprises at the forefront of science and technology, such as the development of semiconductor wafers and LED industry, requires the cooperation of the competent authorities of the two sides of the strait.

At the same time, the chairman of the Huaju Industry Common Standards Foundation said that the two sides should strengthen brand cooperation and not rule out the establishment of a common brand. The cross-strait technology industry has both a horizontal division of labor and a vertical division of labor. Brand cooperation is a natural chapter; the establishment of common standards is also very important, including the setting of standards for LED, semiconductor, solar photovoltaic and DRAM.
